Dr Hamish Gray is a highly regarded, internationally trained expert with a focus on lower limb sports injuries and surgery on the knee and hip.
Dr Gray is one of the few orthopaedic surgeons with 4 prestigious hip and knee fellowships completed in accredited national and international world centres.
Of note, only one Australian orthopaedic surgeon is selected each year to do the Complex Knee & Hip Fellowship and Limb Reconstruction Fellowship at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. He was selected in 2011 by a competitive process involving examination of his CV and references of support by 3 orthopaedic surgeons in Australia.

Computer navigated Knee and Hip Surgery Fellowship
This is an accredited fellowship with the Australian Orthopaedic Association which provides training in robotics and computer navigated knee and hip replacement, knee reconstruction, ACL repair, Brisbane
Complex Knee and Hip Fellowship
This fellowship was in Edinburgh - a world leading, high volume, academic centre. The training included revision arthroplasty of hip and knee fellowship, revision of knee reconstruction, revision ACL repair. It also provides training in complex primary arthroplasty (dysplastic hips, rheumatoid arthritis), Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh *
Lower limb Reconstruction Fellowship
This fellowship was also completed in Edinburgh, providing world leading training in lower limb reconstruction surgery. Limb reconstruction surgery training is needed for sports injuries, knee ligament surgery and acetabular reconstruction (the 'cup' of the hip joint), Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. *
Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship
An Australian Orthopaedic Association accredited fellowship at the Royal Children's Hospital with a focus on paediatric lower limb conditions, management and surgery, Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. On the Sunshine Coast Dr Gray sees lower limb sports injuries down to 10 years old.
The 1st and 4th fellowships are accredited fellowships by the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA). The AOA is the leading organisation for accrediting sub-specialty orthopaedic training in Australia. It ensures a sub-specialty fellowship programs are of the highest standard, conducted in an approved institution with highly recognised supervisors.
